One Week – Autumn 12 – Autumn Tones

Crisp and crinkle

Dank and dry,

My heart sinks lower

With the darkening sky.

Twist and curl

Browns through green,

Things are tough

Now the sun can’t be seen.

Chill and chatter

Layer your clothes

Each day brings pressure

That nobody knows.

Flick and flitter

The fire glows warm,

Heart feels frozen

Just riding the storm.

Decay and rot

Time to hide

One thing helps

Family by side.

I am not what I ought to be. I am not what I want to be. I am not what I hope to be. But still, I am not what I used to be. And by the grace of God, I am what I am.

Another really imaginative and original photo – love it. And added to that, a really beautiful poem – traditionally I’ve often felt quite low at this time of year too – I definitely have a Winter personality. Lovely words! Thank you for linking up again!

I’m starting to realise there is a pattern emerging. I usually gut a bit low in November and then lift again once Christmas starts to kick in.

I love your poem. It captures Autumn really well. Layers of clothes .. hearts warmed by the glow from a fire. Beautiful.
