The Italian Supper

I’m running the London Marathon, if you weren’t already aware I’m letting you know now. I’m running it for a charity I much admire the work of and feel an affiliation with, TACT, The Adolescent and Child Trust.  I have pledge to raise the grand total of £1500 for them, quite a large sum especially in these austere times but I know the cause is worthy and therefore I feel determined. With that in mind I hosted a fundraising event last night, An Italian Supper for twenty ladies. All the lovely ladies paid £5 to be fed, all they had to bring was themselves, a bit of cash and some Friday night fun and they didn’t let me down. Oh and we also got to kiss David Beckham….

The Menu

Italian crisp breads with a trio of home made dips – Tapenade, Pesto & soft cheese, Roasted red pepper.

Pasta with roasted tomatoes sauce and Cheese

Chocolate Lime Cake

Lemon Polenta Cake

Malteser Chocolate Cake – brought along by chief baker Sheila

A large amount of the food was donated by Foster, a shop I love and have written about here, Food lovers heaven.

So that’s the food, now to the ladies, all my great friends. They all managed to be very well behaved, for a while anyway. There was plenty of laughter, giggling, catching up and shared smiles. As the evening progressed there was also lots of shrieking.

And Finally to David Beckham. Think pin the tail on the donkey but kissing instead, I’d X marked the spot on the reverse and who ever got their kiss closest won the box of chocolates. It cost everyone a £1 to have ago, and some came back twice, there were the obvious choices and those who fancied somewhere a little more obscure . So where did I put it….well being a lady, his wrist of course. So David helped immensely in raising £202 towards TACT.
